*update*
i pre-schedule my posts so i wrote this post earlier in the week anticipating and assuming all these wonderful things i wrote were going to happen.
not so much.
remember the “food poisoning” (aka stomach flu) i had last friday and gave to emily on monday?
well, bean got.it.bad.
barfing from 10pm-5am and some other not so pretty stuff.
but man! she was a trooper!
i sent out a FB message letting our expected guests what was going on.
i was worried and did not want to get anyone sick especially the littles. AND the wedding is on sat!!
i think zack and i slept for about 3 hours.
i put the turkey on at 8:30am as planned.
zack’s parents saved the day and brought over all the sides and fixings we were missing.
and we had a nice, quiet thanksgiving.
of course, i was bummed.
and my heart hurt a little when bean asked “where are all the kids?”
but we make lemonade out of lemons. that is what we do.
and…
bean threw up once more and is running a fever
and now zack has it!
and sophie isn’t feeling too hot either.
i’ve held hair, stripped beds, made beds, did 7 loads of laundry, bathed babies, wiped bottoms, blew noses, wiped up barf, rubbed backs and tummies, soothed sick babies, changed poopie diapers, washed poopie foot after baby took off her own poopie diaper and stepped in it.
yah it was that kind of thanksgiving.
BUT
i am so thankful i.get.to.do.all.that.

today we will have a house full of family and friends!
we will all eat too much on yummy appetizers and our bellies will be too full when it is time for dinner.
but that won’t stop us.
you can’t deny the warm, delish turkey and scrumptious sweet potatoes topped with golden, gooey marshmallows.
and don’t forget about dessert.
i will have a slice of each pie with a dollop of cool whip please!
this thanksgiving there is so much to be thankful for…
